Celebrate with us
Join us for this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and celebration event on Saturday 14 November at Didcot Civic Hall, Britwell Road, Didcot.
Doors open at 9.30am for refreshments ahead of a 10am start for the formal AGM business. Following the AGM, members and guests are invited to stay for a lively celebration of BBOWT’s achievements under our Wilder strategy, which has guided the Trust’s work from 2021 to 2026.
The event will also mark the launch of BBOWT’s new strategy to 2030 – a bold vision for a future where nature is woven into everyday life, shaping how land is managed, how places are built, and how people connect with the natural world.
As part of the celebration, this year’s Volunteer Awards will recognise the incredible contribution made by volunteers across our three counties. Expect inspiring ‘TED-style’ talks too, including Nigel Hopper on the power of community organising, and Phil Bruss exploring how BBOWT’s nature reserves fit into a wider, more connected landscape for wildlife.

Bats for
beginners
Discover the secret world of bats in an immersive workshop led by Dr Briony Hughes, eco-poet and creative writing lecturer at Royal Holloway University. Perfect for beginners, the experience combines bat identification, detector training, a guided woodland walk and live poetry. Spot species using specialist equipment, then hear Briony’s haunting bat poetry. Join in at Sutton Courtenay (Oxon) or Woolley Firs (Berks).

Join us for an autumn guided walk at Aston Clinton Ragpits Buckinghamshire. Be on the lookout for chalk grassland flowers, butterflies and other invertebrates and wildlife – and, of course, fungi – at this stunning reserve on the Chiltern escarpment. Why not bring along a packed lunch and something to drink to make a day of it?

Join us at the Nature Discovery Centre for a captivating series of talks exploring the connections between landscape, nature, ecology, literature, poetry, and wildlife. Led by the popular host of Birds and a Brew, Ailsa Claybourne, these sessions promise insight, inspiration, and a fresh perspective on the natural world.
