We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. This includes people with visual, motor, cognitive, and auditory impairments.
How accessible this website is
This website was built using WordPress with the Elementor page builder. Design and development have followed good practices in accessibility, but not all content and features currently meet all aspects of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 AA standard.
We endeavour to make the site usable and accessible to the widest possible audience, and you should be able to:
- change text size, spacing, and fonts using your browser or device settings;
- zoom in up to 200–400% without the content spilling off the screen;
- navigate most of the site using just a keyboard (without a mouse);
- use the site with speech recognition software;
- use most of the site with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS.(GOV.UK)
Accessibility features
Where possible:
- standard, semantic HTML has been used;
- images have alternative text where available;
- text content is written clearly and simply;
- unique IDs and proper heading structures are used in most places;
- many pages are navigable without using a mouse.
Known limitations and areas for improvement
Despite best efforts, some content may not be fully accessible:
- Some images may be missing or have incomplete alternative text.
- Embedded content (e.g., maps, forms or widgets) may not be fully operable with a keyboard or screen reader.
- Third‑party content or plugins (including some Elementor widgets) may not meet all accessibility standards.
- Some older PDF documents or downloads may not be accessible.
These limitations mean the site is partially compliant with accessibility standards. We aim to regularly review and improve accessibility as the site evolves. Some issues may be considered a disproportionate burden to fix immediately due to technical constraints inherent in certain plugins or custom code.
How we test accessibility
We use a combination of:
- manual checks in browsers with keyboard‑only navigation;
- use of assistive technologies (such as screen readers);
- browser tools and accessibility extensions;
- testing with real users where possible.
We also endeavour to follow established guidelines from industry and regulatory bodies on accessibility best practice.(GOV.UK)
